"Great Strap, takes some getting use to." 2009-12-28
By Casey Levinger (Colorado)
I got this strap for Christmas because I was always wrapping the neck strap around my hand to take pictures. I have noticed that by having it wresting on your hand rather than in it, you have a lot more control and less shake. This hand strap makes this so much better! I will say though, that it does take some getting use to in your hand. It sets your hand a little awkward for the jog wheel but I noticed that by keeping it loose, you have a little more control without loosing stability. Definitely worth the money if you like to take pictures with long exposures. Like the other reviews said, you have to either have a BIG camera or the battery grip. Definitely read the directions online on how to strap it to the camera because it's nearly impossible otherwise. I also attached the neck strap to the hand strap which makes it very versatile and I didn't have to loose the neck strap for the hand strap. Overall, great product and the quality is exactly what you would expect from Canon, amazing.

 "Hand Strap Works!" 2009-12-12
By John F. Nall (Los Angeles)
For some time I've been looking for a way to comfortably (and safely) hand carry my DSLR. The only solution that worked was using a neck strap that allowed me to unclip the main strap from two shorter straps that attached to the camera, clip the shorter straps together, and then wrap that short loop around my wrist. Functional, but not too elegant. The Canon strap works much much better. Keep in mind that you need a battery grip (I'm using a Canon 7D with grip) and you'll have to figure out how to use a neck strap when you don't want to hand carry your camera. I use Black Rapid's strap, which attaches to the tripod socket. That strap is the best I've found (see their website).

"Wonderful addition to a pro camera" 2009-12-08
By John Slaughter (South Bend, IN)
I hate the neck strap. Always dangling in my way, snagging on the tripod. Do away with it.

The Wrist Strap is great. You need to spend a little time adjusting it, but once you have it right it's great.

"Great if you keep your BG on the Camera Body at all times!" 2009-11-18
By ED F (Miami Lakes, FL)
This strap has great quality and gives you a great feeling of a secure grip on your camera. Unfortunately it can only be used with the Battery Grip installed ( it's a chore to put on and take off)and I travel with my camera gear in a Pelican 1510 carry-on case that requires I disassemble my equipment into components in order to accomodate all the gear.

If you plan on having the BG on at all times I highly recommend this stap.

 "Canon E1 Hand Strap" 2009-11-12
By P. Petersen (Hawaii)
I bought the Canon E1 hand strap because the off-brand one I was using had it's own plate that needed to be screwed in just to be able to hook-up both the hand strap and the neck strap. I should have just bought the Canon hand strap from the beginning instead of trying to save a few bucks on an off-brand hand strap. The Canon hand strap is also much more comfortable than all the others I've tried.
